New Shaving Caddy

Here are some pics of a shaving caddy I made out of PVC and wood. It should last a long time. What do you think?
It could be used for a safety razor too.

That's really nice. Should last forever.
One thing I would suggest is to make it so the razor can be stored tang-down.

For daily use, it doesn't make a big difference.
For longer term storage, I like tang-down because it allows the camellia oil on the blade to weep down into the pivot and displace any remaining moisture and thwart corrosion.

The razor can be stored tang down or up either way but I never stand mine that way. The oil will stain the pivot area and sometimes damage it. Especially wood.

I am going to make some up and take them to the flea market next weekend. Anyone got any suggestions for improvements?
I was thinking I might make some up for guys who still use the canned goo and instead of the 2" tube for the brush, make it a 3" tube for a can of shaving cream and shorten the razor holder so it will hold not only the straight razor but almost any safety razor.

I have one. I ordered it last week, received it last week. I highly recommend it and doing business with mackie.
