Gillette late 40's NDC Super Speed = good.
While the cutting ability is the actually the same, the irritation level is far less in the NDC razor.
This was only the second shave on that blade so I don't see that it could have 'broken in'. Coarse hairs but overall very light beard, I'm not one of those epic beard men lol.
So test those blades.

. Assuming the black handle Super Speed is not broken in any way (bent safety bar, etc), I think I'd do some more trials before making any firm conclusions. You should try changing the order.. black handle first on the same amount of growth, then follow up with the 40's SS second. Maybe it's just the second day of shaving that's giving you trouble...
