I gave my son a SEIKO SNK807K2 last year. He loves it and NEVER takes it off.
Yesterday for some reason it started to run way fast. It gained 6 hours in a day!
I was no able to find a watch repair shop that will had a watchmaker to look at it.
These days the only work made in-house are battery replacement and bracelet
adjustment anything more complex and you have to send the watch to the repair center.
I decided to look in the Internets to see if I could find an answer.
I found a simple fix.
Place the watch face down on your palm.
Slap hard on the caseback with your other hand.
DONE!
Aparently a stuck mainspring is the culprit.
Thought I should share the knowledge here since there a lot of SEIKO 5 fans in here.
PS My son is 8. He wanted a digital watch and I told him that he needed to learn to tell time.
I got him this watch and he LOVES it. I want to see how long it will last.
So far it has not dissapointed me.
