My Lamy 2000 is a workhorse. Great pen, but don't let them deny you the pleasure of trying other things. Find yourself a vintage Pelikan. Walk into a Montblanc boutique and have fun with the 146 ink demonstrators. I've got a MB 149 that I can't seem to put down or take out of rotation. The Lamy still gets use and love though.

ly, something about the geometry of the section, the steps at the nib end and the (infantile) way i hold pens make 146s and 149s unbearingly uncomfortable for me to write with. I have had both pens but had to make others smile after a while. Yet, my Heritage 1912 is so comfortable to use
