What's new

Found this little beauty at an antique show today!

A very nice 1921 New Improved combo set complete with mirror, brush and 90 year old moldy soap(that was to gross to show you guys). All for the meager sum of $40.00. I jumped at it so fast that I almost tripped.:lol:

The new one is on the left and the one that I've had for a while is on the right, notice the difference in the knob texture and pattern. I didn't know that they had made more than one type of knob.

The one on right is new improved new standard, made from 1919 to 1929 . There were many variants to this head design, the handles and cases were the way to I.D. them.

The New Improved comes in 1921. The razor with the same knob knurling like the handle knurling is one of the very early New Improved. What serial number has it?

I had the same reaction when I found mine. Just went to an out of the way antique store on my lunch break. Wasn't expecting anything at all. Actually looked over the set once then seen it and asked how much. Lady says 35 dollars I say SOLD! 40.00 bucks is a heck of deal for one in such good shape.

Nice find!
