They are actually ebony. I believe Cedric called them black + white or light + dark ebony.
I'm out by Lexington reservoir, Bear Creek Road and Old Santa Cruz highway ... 2-3 miles from downtown Los Gatos. Small world!
Woodside, Portola Valley out to Half Moon Bay is beautiful country.:thumbup:

I ended up breaking this brush this morning. I wanted to do one little tweak and chucked it up in the lathe. One catch and it was history. I knew better and paid the price. No biggie at least I saved the knot.
