Tie Clip Pencil?

OK I admit, I like all things gadget.
An ended ebay auction....

I might have bid, but the seller was unable to confirm that the pencil was in working order via email.

Can anyone tell me...

a: Have you had something like this ? Like it?
b: Is there a modern version in production now ? If so where can it be purchased?
c: Got one for sale ?
d: Are tie clips totally "out" at the moment?

Don't do it!! It is a much better look to keep various different coloured ball point pens clipped into your jacket pocket....

There are a few others on ebay. That auction has ended so if you click the link there are suggestions and the seller has also re-listed the item.

If you want it go for it, but I would never use it or any tie clip.

I only posted the expired Ebay auction so you'd all know what I was talking about. My local antique shop has one on the shelf, and I looked up the ebay auctions for price references etc.

I could save maybe a couple of bucks on the bay, but not sure it's enough to worry about the hassles of shipping.

Mostly I wondered if this is indeed a "vintage" only item, or if someone is making them now etc.
