What's new

there and back again

Back in the 70s I bought a box of junk at an auction east of Montreal for $2 and in it I found 3 straight razors. This is the one we honed up and I learned to use it from my dad way back when.
It is a Sheffield razor from EM Dickinson, INVICTA brand and etched "Silver King" on the blade. I always wind up with another safety razor because I'm impatient and maybe a little ADD (not even dreamed of then). But I keep picking this one up again every few years, honing it again and having at it. Happened again on the weekend. Here's the kit as it is today:

It is shaving better than I remember, but then, I was more patient at honing and stropping it this time around. Advanced age has its advantages. Does anyone out there know more about these razors?
