Just a quick follow-on correspondence I got from Sue after she read the review with a nice pointer about travelling with these shave sticks:
I do make them a softer texture so the mechanism for the propel/repel doesnt break. Some of the other soap sticks break because the soap is inflexible. Generally running under very hot water will fix that, but usually it is too late and the 'twist' is already broken.
You are also correct they will be used up faster but I think the trade off of a working tube is worth it. For travel, they can just be rubbed on a wet beard, rub in with fingertips and shave without a brush if needed.
