Worst James Bond movie

Any James Bond movie with Roger Moore.

Nothing against Moore who is a good actor but the style those movies were made in were awful.

Blame it on the Producers/Directors etc.

+1.

I don't blame Roger moore who was great as "The Saint"; it's just that for me, Bond was Sean Connery.

Pierce Brosnan was fine as Bond-he rescued us from Timothy Dalton, but Daniel Craig has reclaimed the mantle.

Moonraker is, for me, the worst.

Casino Royale, and yes, I mean the Daniel Craig version, is by far the best Bond film since Connery.

Unfortunately, the most recent Bond film was a big mistake. For some unfathomable reason the producer/director/some-one-in-charge thought it would be a good idea to make a Borne movie and misrepresent it s a Bond movie. I hope that headache-inducing shaky camera work goes out of style real soon.

Moonraker started a downward spiral that hit new depths with Octopussy and A View to a Kill. That was a trilogy of bad that I hope will never be achieved again. I'm in agreement that the reboot was a good thing, a very good thing.

any Roger Moore, Bond movie is worst than any Sean Connery Bond movie. Daniel Craig is the real deal but because of technology you can't compare movies made 40 years ago to movies made these days.

I love the first go-around with Connery. However, my vote is Never Say Never Again, which was an awful remake of Thunderball. Connery was way too old to play Bond. Although, Kim Basinger is very easy on the eyes

I never thought I would dislike a James Bond movie, but On Her Majesty's Secret Service is not the way James Bond should be portrayed. It is far too campy and the clothing James Bond wears is horrible. I understand this is the way movies were made when they shot this, but James Bond represents a certain type of class that is not to be tampered with in movies.

I blame the lack of a certain Mr. Connery in this one.

Oddly, this movie followed the book closer than almost any other Bond movie made. I used to rate it as the worst until I read the book. The problem was not the actor, it was the time. They used current filming, dress, etc. styles of the time. This just made things wrong, sadly. It is also the only time Bond broke the Fourth Wall. :thumbdown

OHSS is a whole different peek at JB.

Bad JB films?...

Moonraker.

'nuff said.

This is the one I typically rate as worst too.

When you get down to it, all Bond movies suck.

I thought I knew you. And to think, I shared a table with you.

Well to say that George Lazenby was a bad James Bond can be argued.
There have rumors for years that he really didn't want to be the new Bond and that is why he played the role the way he did

Lazenby was the closest to Bond in real life. He had been a martial arts instructor in the military, a ski champion, and the highest paid male model at the time he was hired for this movie. He performed his own fighting sequences and injured some of the other actors on accident. He broke his arm during filming too. That is why the goon takes his coat, which was draped over his shoulders, when he meets Blofeldt the first time. His arm is in a cast there.

As far as not wanting it, I had never heard that. He went to a lot of trouble to get that job. He purchased a tailored suit to match Bond's, the same watch, and got his hair cut to look more like him. It was at the haircut he ran into Broccoli prior to auditioning. He made an impression and this is what helped him land the job.

His not returning seems to be clouded as to whether that was his decision or not. Sounds like he was not the easiest to get along with during filming.

Technically, Never Say Never Again is not a Bond film. It was a poor imitation. :thumbdown

I agree, I remember thinking its amazing how closely the movies follow the books. If you think the movies are bad you probably wont like the books. Making movies so cutting edge for the times results in many of them quickly becoming dated.

Interesting stuff...I knew he was a male model but didn't know the rest.

Another vote for Never Say Never Again, just awful. The Timothy Dalton movies were wretched as well, especially the one where he pops a wheelie in a semi. I liked the first Daniel Craig movie okay, but couldn't get into the second one at all.

Casino Royale by Woody Allen...

I really hated Licensed to Kill. Just about everything about it was bad. Thankfully, it was an unmemorable flick. Oh wait, now I'm remembering. Arrrggh!!

Wow...no love for Roger Moore! It is true, his Bond movies were goofier than the others...maybe that's why the appealed to me as a kid and I still seem to have a soft spot for them. Up until Craig's Bond they were all pretty campy. Moore was definitely the least believable as an irresistible to women, tough, dangerous spy of all the Bonds...

I think the producers and directors had more to do with the Moore movies being bad than anything else. After all, Connery left the franchise because he did not like the direction the movies were going. He reportedly quit 3 different time before making it final.

:biggrin1: And you do know me, as I was trying to stir things up and it looks like I did that.

Yes, I will never be able to forgive the wheelie incident. :thumbdown

I told Mrs. Blackfoot that was probably what you were doing when I was crying about it last night.:lol::lol:
