Looking to get another brush. I have a badger best and a silver-tip. Thinking of either a Semogue 1305 boar or a Vie-long 04312 horse hair. What would you buy?

I would say that it depends on the method of lathering you would use your new brush for.

The 1305 is a really great brush. It is by far my favorite boar and probably the brush I use the most overall. I also like the look of the handle, though the paint can chip if dropped. As with all things, YMMV. I do agree that both are pretty reasonable and it's not out of the question to buy and use both or eventually BST one.
I prefer semogue 1250 over 1305 its the same brush but 1305 to me is overrated (TO ME ). but both are good brushes, also omega professional are good value too , I never used one , but I am saying cuz of what people says in brush thread . My omega 10049 is on the way.
Never owned a Semogue but I have been very happy with my Vie Long.

The Handle is easy to grip and I had the loft set @ 48mm, just put your request in the Comment Area at Check-Out; set loft of Brush (model #) at (loft in mm).
