So I knew I had this old straight lying around. I have no idea what kind it is. The only identifying mark I can find is a cursive "Solingen" stamp. Any help will be much appreciated!

Without anything else on the tang, all we can say for sure is that it's German with what looks like bone scales. Probably early 20th century.
I checked it out earlier tonight. They are most definitely some sort of bone scales. The blade feels surprisingly light. The edge is beat up pretty bad, but a bit of cleaning and a good honing should get it back into shape. I'm just baffled at how light the blade feels.
Nice razor. There were millions of generic razors like this made, so no real way to get more ID. Clean it up, hone it, and shave away.
