Mint Julep for the Derby - homemade mint simple syrup and Buffalo Trace.

Derby Day ‘24!!! 2.5 oz bourbon poured over the crushed ice, followed by 0.5 oz mint simple syrup. Top with more crushed ice and a bruised mint sprig. Seems to make an enjoyable Julep!

Born and raised an hour away from Deauville so going to the race in the summer was always a staple on the week end.

First time making one of those. Giving it a moment to mindle in theglass before drinking is certainly changing the profile a lot ...
