Vintage Gillette Tech post war rust ? HELP!

Hello!

I just scored this awesome piece of history last weekend, for 5$. The razor is in a good shape in general. I have cleaned it, there is almost no rust exept in a part in the cap, i dont know what it is but its very redish... i dont know if its rust or a chip in the plating so we can see the brass...

How can i fix this ?

Have you tryed scrubbing with soft tooth brush & whitning tooth paste?

It looks like the plating is wearing off and the underlying brass is showing through. It is not rust since brass doesn't rust. I wouldn't worry about it. Just clean it gently from now on to avoid further plating loss and enjoy using it. It will still last a very long time.

There might be copper plating between the brass and the nickel.

yes i did cleaned it with tooth brush and tooth paste, unfortunately.

Well I am out of simple suggestions, maybe you should just use, and be happy if it shaves well.
