Symrise Sailing Heals fragrance

Was at the intimate Symrise NYC corporate showroom opening post NYFW S/S '16 cocktail party the other day. Picked up a couple of bottles of their prototype Sailing Heals fragrance collaboration they did with Morgan O'Conner in my swag bag. It was a fun and relaxing event. Kick Kennedy also hosted. Great finger food, great wine and champagne. Great fragrance education. Funny enough, Morgan and I actually partied a bit two NYFW's ago and I had no idea he was working with Symrise on something to benefit the Sailing Heals charity. He's a good guy. Anyway, the fragrance is actually pretty amazing. I picked up what were reminiscent of grapefruit and oceanic notes, yet with some actual staying power. Not at all sweet or powdery, which I detest. Male, but not overly stodgy, preppy in all the right ways. Balanced in a way that uses new fragrance techniques that still harks back to the last mid century (early 1940's-early 1960's). When I say prototype, I mean it. It's in a nondescript bottle with an inkjet printed paper label sticker hastily set askew, which just makes this even more cool in my book. I usually wear old formulation AOS Lemon (have three bottles left somewhere) and Trumpers Lime (have a half a 500ml bottle left that I daily use as a splash). Now, I might have actually found a signature scent that fits beautifully into that rotation, albeit one made in an freakishly small batch and likely to never be acquired again, lol. That's been my luck with scents I actually like, starting with Creed Vetiver (vintage)(RIP) and Creed Cypres Musc (RIP). Can't stop smelling this stuff on my arm. I'm very impressed. Kudos to Morgan and Symrise. Hope the scent eventually hits the market in a formulation resembling what I am wearing.

For those not familiar with Symrise, and very few people are, they are the behind the scenes noses and compounders bringing some of the best fragrances to market. Let's just say that when it comes to creating a high quality niche fragrance, they have some serious street cred. Among their perfumer's many previous creations are:
