Simpson Ehsan
Pre de Provence SS
Merkur HD (Astra)
Proraso Splash
Pre de Provence ASB
Guerlain Heritage

Getting to the point where I "know" the Merkur razor. The others-39c slant, A4redtip, EJ DE89-take some remembering. Even giving thought to selling off the others. I'm at least considering trading the 39c for a short handle slant. Hmm.

Sunday

5/8 J Gleave & Son Hollow Ground
Cella soap
Simpsons Commodore X1
Boots Distilled Witch Hazel
L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Hydrating Boost Post-Shave Balm
Pinaud Clubman AS Lotion

Sunday

Muhle R89 with Derby
T&H medium silvertip
C.R. Salter Vetiver shave cream
Thayer's Original WH

I found myself sniffing pots of shave cream at Colonial Drug yesterday. I really thought I'd wind up with a pot of T&H - possibly the almond or the esteemed lavender. But C.R. Salter won out over both T&H and TOBS... easily.

The C.R. Salter French Vetiver scent has been likened to campfires, bacon, dirty shoes, and the like on the forums. In reality, it smells like vetiver. Plain and simple. Smells very similar to the vetiver essential oil that I have. Earthy, smokey, grassy, dirty (in a clean kind of way)... It's really wonderful. Performs like a dream too. I like.

Holy crap!

Just for that, I'm going to have to find new ways to tempt you in the Cologne forum! That's so beautiful that it's just sick!

Damn you, I don't need any help!

Holy Smokes!

The colors in all your pics are amazing

Thanks gents!

'58 TV Special + Persona
Custom Brush & Bowl
Eco Galway shave soap
Omega shave cream
Speick AS Lotion

After making a few test lathers with the shave soap it was time to use it. Had to make 2 batches in the end and even then I had to finish the shave with the Omega.

Until I figure out how to get consistantly good lathers from this soap it will stay on the sideline. Even then I may not keep it as there was what seemed a slight burning sensation when the lather was applied to my face.

Nice picture today gents!

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + Stephan's Conditioning Smooth Shave Creme
Music: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade, Op. 35.
Razor: 7/8" Maestro Livi, Hollow, Round point
Strop: SRD Premium IV (50/70)
Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Al Raz' Custom "Da Bomb" Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Post-shave/Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
AS Splash: Floïd Spanish Blue
Result: Unfortunately, I don't own a W&B "The Celebrated" to keep up with the spirit of this Sunday's shave. Instead, I opted to go with something which I believe to me equally great; the Livi, whose aesthetic design and form converge seamlessly with its function to provide this razor its "natural flow". My experiments with of soaps/cremes continues. Today's trial was to experience the quality and performance of the lather resulting from mixing Lanolin- and Glycerin-based products. Al Raz' custom formulation has already proven itself to be one of the top contenders of thick and moist lather, but mixed with MWF, this creme really came out leaps and bounds ahead of anything I have tried to date. There are no appreciable visible differences, but underneath, this thick luxurious lather's performance was literally out of this world. The Lanolin gave "Da Bomb" an extra kick in moisturizing ability. What a shave. As Max put it: "Flawless. Zen. Nirvana. Heaven."
