I liked the SR brush better even though it isn't as densely packed. The Rooney was more scrubby/scritchy feeling (but not as bad as a pure badger I once owned), the SR softer and silkier feeling. It was not "moppy" at all. The lather was generated well by both, ever so slightly faster by the SR but the Rooney held more lather once it was formed. All life's choices should be this tough.
Does this mean I won't like a Duke or Rooney 1/1?

I decided to do a long (4-pass), lazy shave, this afternoon. I usually shave in the early evening.

I also tried a new (to me) shave soap, the Pre de Provence I got with the recent B&B French soap buy. It was, in a word, excellent! Easy to lather, wonderful scent, and nice, thick, rich lather.

• Pre washed face with Institut Karite shea butter bourbon vanilla soap (twice)
• Savile Row 3226, just after washing it with Dawn
• Merkur Vision
• new Feather non-platinum
• T. N. Dickenson's witch hazel
