Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum "Sage & Cedar"
Brush: El Druida redwood handle, 24mm synthetic
Razor: Ikon Deluxe open-comb
Blade: NOS Wilkinson Sword UK (1)
Post: Ogallala Bay Rum "Sage & Cedar" ASL

OMG lather explosion! First time with the Ogallala but it won't be the last. Thick, rich & slick lather. Lather was so thick that the brush would stand upright in the bowl. Very nice 3-pass shave.

Excellent near BBS shave. The Junior is a gem of a razor. It is definitely a favorite. The MWF was exceptionally easy to lather today and the post shave feel is amazing. I can live the rest of my life using just this combo. Doesn't mean I will though...

Yes, I do use Trumper's Coral Skin Food as a pre-shave. I have shaved both with and without, and I think it gives me a smoother shave. I heard about it here on B&B, in fact.

Well, the Coral Skin Food contains alcohol, which may be drying on your skin and contribute to irritation in the shave.
Have you tried using a preshave oil or a preshave glycerin soap instead? For either one, use liberally and massage well into the beard.
