What's new

Post your shave dens!

I store three brushes next in my rotation in my medicine cabinet. The razor and brush I am currently using is stored on the counter in a holder.

The remainder of what is in my current rotation is stored in a drawer.

alex2363.. after about 30 minutes of trying to get the picture oriented the right way, I gave up lol. I guess it has something to do with the picture being taken on my phone, uploaded to google drive, downloaded to my chromebook, then uploaded here. At any rate, computers and I don't get along all that well.
dangerousdon.. Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm stationed here at Pearl Harbor for the next few years, thankfully on shore duty!

You guys have some serious dens going on here. Thank you all for photographic evidence that my collection is not (in my wife's opinion) "too much stuff"!

Mick, have you stopped leaving your blades out on the counter?

I still leave them out but I have cut back from a dozen or more to around 3 or 4 unwrapped blades at a time which is more than enough to have out. The papers are hard to see as they are not that big (look along the right side of the counter running front to back, you'll see them)

I haven't posted mine in a while. Here it is, as is, no staging or cleaning, so it's a bit messy.

I have that same Ikea mirror. Had it hung up for a while but never used it a great deal. When we remodeled that bathroom the mirror came down and didn't go up again.

Well this is my side, otherwise known as "his side" of the bathroom, having your own sink when living with a lady is a luxury. No long hairs, no make up powder building up in my corners, no toothpaste presents in my sink...it's great!

Below is the aftershave cabinet. As you can see, behind the doors of the cabinet are what I consider to be best scents and/ or chemical make up for colder weather seasons. Underneath those are my summer time aftershaves. Beneath the summer aftershaves, are my boar brushes. I don't have stands for them so when I'm done with a brush, I just use the built-in towel rack as a space to hang my brushes to dry using rubber bands.

Below is just some stuff I've used in the past couple days but just didn't put away yet. I keep 1 razor out and that's the one I'm using at any given point in a rotation. The stand in the corner holds my Parker Silvertip and my current razor: Merkur 34C.

Below i.e. is just the other side of my sink, you can see my Dirty Bird scuttle and my big Old Spice mug that still has some lather left over from today's shave in there, lol- I usually rinse out the mug, but it's Colonel Conk Almond, and I generally think rinsing out the mug with a glycerine soap just withers it a little faster than a harder tallowed soap. It's probably negligible but that's what I do.

$image.jpg

These are my razors waiting for their turn. I don't keep them out because I don't want them collecting dust or getting splashed on or anything so they live under the sink. As you can see, this is just a toothbrush stand that works perfect as a razor stand. Resting in wait are my Gem Micromatic Bullet Tip, Gillete Superspeed, 1912 Gem Junior, and my Edwin Jagger DL89.

$103.jpgMy modest collection. Use them all except the single edged, which I just acquired at a local shop. Tried to pick up SE blades locally today but the store doesn't carry them anymore, due to too much thievery (Wow, who'd a thought).

My updated shave den. Took these pics about 4 days ago now I've added more items with more still coming. Looks like a rearrange is in order to fit it all in again.

Missing from these pics would be a 1920s Old Type, 2 Frankenstein Razors (1920 Old with Bar Handle & 1930 Canadian New with Contract Tech Handle), a NOS Star Razor, a Fendrihan Pure Badger Brush and RazoRock XXX Soap and AS Splash.

Here's mine. Well most of it. The system forces me to keep most of my rotation/current non favourites in a second set of shelve below to avoid this falling off the wall. I had been looking for a use for an old SouthAfrican beer crate I picked up and this idea finally stuck me.
