I don't think I've smoked a meer during.the month of April since we started Meerschaum March all those years ago, but I was rummaging around amongst the jars in the cabinet looking for inspiration, and hit upon one of my favorite aromatics.

Campbell's 207 in my IMP this evening...

A little bit of an early start this morning accompanied by BCA in the SilverKing. Then I am off into the world.

No pipe today at least. My throat has been a little scratchy ever since yesterday morning; I wonder if I might be coming down with something. Rest, extra vitamins, and food are on the menu. I'll be packing a bowl and puffing with all of you in spirit!

Best part of today, my eldest daughter asked me some questions about my time in the Navy for an essay/book she’s writing for school. I thanked her for taking an interest in my career.

After three days off with a throat irritation, which has now faded, I loaded some good old-fashioned codger leaf, Sir Walter Raleigh, into my Jeantet straight billiard w/ horn stem. Twenty minutes' puffing this afternoon felt about right. I slid a pipe cleaner up the stem and shank, set the pipe aside, and will take another session tomorrow when I get up.

I finished up the Sir Walter in the Jeantet. While the bowl was not bitter, it was hard to keep lit, and the dottle after ten minutes was pretty damp.

Loaded some Early Morning Pipe in the Peterson 80S bent bulldog for a short after-breakfast smoke.
