Well, it depends on the blade. Some blades provide their best shaves during round 2-3 (BIC Chrome)

Others are "one and one" but I find them a minority. (Feather)

For me the best and safest shave is always the first. My worst cuts were on any blade that I used three or more times. Life is too short for crappy shaves. YMMV and all that.
