I came across this razor today and I think it is a Super Adjustable 109 PV. The letters I saw under the doors were Y 4, the base cap is black possibly plastic. The cap is silver, although it appears as gold/brass in the photos. Any other knowledge you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You’re correct 109 PV. Great shaver! (1978). ‘P’ stands for plastic and ‘V’ stands for vertical (knurling).

What you and everyone above said. It's one of my favourite razors. For cleaning use a toothbrush and some hot water with dish detergent.
The knurled handle is a bit annoying to (keep) clean, a toothpick helps to get the soapscum out of there.

Find someone who reloads and ask them to run the razor through a vibratory polisher with soft media. Really cleans up the plastic.
Another thumbs up for the Black Beauty. Very good razor. Beautiful shave.
