Bought a 1971 Gillette Adjustable (Black Beauty ?) - what to look for

The handle on the SuperAdjustable is not plastic. And only those made after ‘77 with the nylon base plate are “Black Beauties”. It is the best adjustable razor ever made IMHO.

Agreed! It's the one model I reach for quite often, even over my Rex Ambassador. I prefer it over all the other Super Adjustables and that is the long and short of it!
