I used to measure my blades with regular ruler or its projection on plain paper with mm scale. That approach never gives me any confidence. Especially for large razors and smiling profile. Ownestly, I do not dare to use caliper. All these photos with razor blade confronting caliper jaws are horible to me. I've seen some nice scales helping to read measures. I used that with some 3D improvements for better support for spine. See that below. But the real novelty, which I have never seen before, which just came to my mind, is to use pass-through scale with radial reference. This eliminates the imprecission and helps to deal with razors like those from Saito. Finally I made some of the boards for our local FB group. No complains until now.
