My Guess... 3017

strop

Now half as wise
I should be able to make the tube of LoToja last until Feb 1. Took me a while to get used to a cream again, and to relearn how to bowl lather, but this is better than I remember it!

I'm sure it has nothing to do with technique, though!:lol:

Maybe three lathers left in my puck of Razorocktober! This soap has really proven itself as a top notch winner. Was very skeptical when I started. I love when a soap wins you over.

Today a monumental event has occurred. After 100 shaves the Martin de Candre fougere soap expired in an avalanche of beautiful lather. It was a long and enjoyable journey.

Wow congrats! I actually thought you'd get far more than 100 shaves out of it. Was it a new puck?

As of today I have 75 shaves on my RR Classic. It started out at 155g and is now about 20g and I swear something is sneaking soap into the bottom of the tub at night while I sleep. I have gone from wondering what I will use the last couple weeks of January prior to the start of MdC to wondering if I will be able to finish it before next Sunday. For some reason the last little ring at the bottom of the container refuses to be used up.

How much does an empty RR classic container weigh?

Ruckin.

Not sure but I find the non tallow to last much longer. The tallow soaps are very soft and mushy.

Finished up my WSP Rustic soap yesterday. Next up is Tiki Land Locked.

I went back and looked at the beginning of this thread, and there was a point there where there would sometimes be week to month gaps between posts.

I'm guessing it was a crazy, unheard of idea on shaving forums at the time. It probably took a while before members realized there was genius in the madness.

I wonder what percentage of "active" B&B members 3017 their lather products to some extent....and all thanks to @johnniegold.

I'll bet a much higher percentage of non B&B members 3017 their lather products. I remember an early 3017 post where beginish or johniegold was limiting themselves to one soap, one brush, one razor, and then said something like "Wait a minute, isn't this how the rest of the world shaves"

The RR tubs are all different and are always changing. If you got a pic of the one you are using, I can check my empties.

Hmm, forgot to snap a picture this morning but found one on the web.

All I have left is a thin ring of soap around the bottom edge. Maybe I need to use my simpson case travel brush to better get into the corner. My scale only has whole gram resolution and was 20g when I finished shaving today. After the water evaporates I expect it to be half a gram or so lighter. My lather was a bit thin today so I will try my the small/stiff brush tomorrow and hopefully I will use the last of the soap up on Saturday morning (right on schedule)

Do you just keep working the ring? Once I get a decent sized hole, I usually press the product back into a mound shape in the middle of my bowl. Curious to see how the big boys address the tail end of their soaps.

I'm not a big boy, but I use the same method as you.

My grandpa, dad, both brothers, and all other family members that I've brought shaving up to fall in this category. Heck, up until about 2 years ago, I only 3017 my very limited shave supplies.

As others have said, just smoosh the remaining soap somewhere more accessible.
