Any favourite mulled wine recipes? Something simple? I throw one this afternoon as an experiment using just what I had in the house and it turned out pretty well so I will definitely try it again.

I think I posted this one last year. I have thus tweeked it a bit and added some Brandy for a bit more kick.
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup white sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
1 orange
3 cloves
Splash Brandy
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine
Make simple syrup with the water, juice of the orange, orange peel and spices. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Add wine Brandy and heat until hot but not boiling. Strain & Serve
I put a pinch or two of fresh ground cinnamon at the bottom of the glass when I serve it. Like I said I go heavy on the cinnamon.

Sounds delicious. I will definitely cut back on the sugar next time I make it...but will add brandy.
I use almost same ingredients as recipe above but procedure is a little bit different

375 ml water
1 cinnamon stick
10 cloves
1 orange
1 lime
sugar
Add wine, water, spices and fruit into large pot. Start heating mix very slowly and do not let it boil. Strain and serve.
When i serve mulled wine i let everyone to add as much sugar as they want.
Enjoy!

I like strong wine with a high alcohol content...any recommendations?
