This is only my speculations.
1. On the tang it says made in Germany. From this I deduct that it isn't made in Solingen.
2. The blade is engraved and not etched. This indicates that it's older than it might seem at first glance. It might be made sometime around 1900, but I'm out on thin ice here. Even so I feel rather safe stating that it is made before WWII.
3. I've seen several pre war blades marked "Made in Germany" that turned out to have been made in the parts of Germany that today is Poland or Russia.
In any case it is a beautiful blade with some pitting, that didn't affect the shave. It seems to be well made so I have no doubts that it will shave well. Congratulations.
