For new razors, I tend to get many of the reasonably priced ones rather than fewer of the real high-ends. The most I have spent on any razor, either new or vintage, is $80. Most were a lot less than that. If you told me I could only keep my Baili TTO, I would still get great shaves.
Actually, I have found several razors that I'm perfectly happy with. I like collecting vintage for nostalgia sake, and it's fun trying out different modern ones. But I guess I am in pursuit of something "better", even though it most likely doesn't exist. There have only been a small percentage of razors that I haven't gotten along with.Welcome to Badger & Blade!
Going back and fourth just means, you haven't found the razor you love yet, or the shaving routine hasn't been dialed down quite yet. I have faith that you will get there.
