I find that after exclusively using one style of razor for a month, I pick up something else and it feels better than it was prior. Wasn't particularly looking forward to going back to a DE (because I couldn't find my FHS for Valet), and it was relatively flawless.
I do think that practicing with other razors makes your whole technique better.
