What's new

first dueling scar, an odd one

Yes it is best to accept one's own natural pigment. Even naturally dark individuals get skin cancer albeit at lower rates. A recent case of skin cancer in a college defensive lineman, Josh Paschal of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, should be an eye opener to all.

skin cancer was not really a thought to my parents or grandparents or any of my family members. again, I'm not sure why there is such a sharp rise in cases. I think more time spent outside and in uv beds trying to get a tan is a big part of it. Of course there's big money in the world of tanning beds and tanning oil as well as sunscreen.

Again I think the sun's rays have increased in potency as well. It does sadden me a bit, not because of the lack of a bronze complexion but because many activities I once enjoyed such as laying out on the beach and ogling women in bikinis are just too dangerous at this point
