Another great shave with the Speick, a 2-pass DFS. The Commodore has quickly become my go to brush. A great combination of soft tips with nice backbone for massaging the lather into the stubble.

I have finally cracked the code of my La Veinette, and I now find that I made it more difficult than it needed to be, but it's so nice, many blades are receiving a "tune-up" on it. The Clover Brand straight was today's victim. I love this blade for it's "shotgun" scales and generally clean, flattering lines. Reminiscent of like a long, lean and beautiful airline stewardess..
The New Forest #2221 is the acknowledged master at handling creams, so why not team it up with Castle Forbes in it's Lavender persuasion?
I'll skip the superlatives, and give it my highest four star rating.. A pleasant shave!

I have cracked the code - not the Da Vinci code, but Da Scottish fine Soaps code
I have blamed this soap for having poor and unstable lather, however I have been wrong, all it took was not more product, but more water - a lot more water in fact.
When I figured that out, I got a very nice and thick meringue-like lather.
So my apology to Scottish Fine Soaps for dissing their soap, which turns out to be a quite nice soap.
