Hey all.
Thanks for keeping this site full of useful information. I've been DE shaving for a couple of months now with decent success - except my neck. I'd been shaving with Atras since I got a free razor as a freshman in college. Every now and then, I seek out another stash of Atra blades at a decent price. This year, I got interested in trying out the DE shaving.
I lost my dad 1.5 years ago. In July, I got his old razor - 1964 Slim. Went to QVC for a VDH kit and their version of Persona blades. So that was a good cheap way to start the hobby. But as we all know, this is too interesting a hobby to stop there.
Using this and another site, I've put together enough hardware and software to keep me entertained for a while. I love the idea of buying world-class, but slightly use, soaps and creams. I found a guy selling a nice high-end group of soaps and creams and another that was selling most everything from an extensive collection. I've bought an used R89 Twist and a used Muhle STF brush. Got a couple of Omegas new at half price. Also picked a few soaps from the top of list from a soap survey here. So, here is where I start:
