Back to topic. This post makes me want a ceramic razor. :\ So, no one manufactures one? Not even the Japanese?

Kyocera tried, said that ceramic was too sharp.
As far as I know, nobody makes a production one.

You may be pre-law, but I'm an engineer, I live for new materials,etc.
You also referred to yourself as the defendant. If your lawyers were contacting his lawyer, that would imply that you would be taking the action....as the plaintiff. You may be an engineer (and make much prettier razors than I ever could!), but I'm a lawyer. Admitted in neither of your states, so I'll just shut up now.
Besides, I am sure Kyocera patented their failed straight anyway.

If you can show an improvement on an already patented idea, you can get a new patent on it.

It was a snapped (or knapt) piece from big island Hawaii....My guide showed us how easy it was to make a knife of pieces of obsidian lava rocks..
I got lucky and snapped the 2 opposite sides of a roundish lump to get a nice edge; so good in fact it shaved my cheeks with no problems..
The problem was trying to hold it to get the neck and below the chin was very awkward,,, so much so I dropped it and it shattered...
Did'nt try doing it again, but I think there's a market for these kind of razors....
Anyone know if its possible for a lead glass razor???? I can imagine one hell of an edge and not too hard to do for a glass blower workin with a die of some sort.
