The equinox denotes the longest day and the shortest day of the year, but for seasons, the weather denotes that. Here in PA, winter is in November until March. Whoops, yea, got those mixed up (just like I always mix up yea and yeah )The equinox's are the days where day and night are closest to being equal, around Sept. 23rd & March 20th.
Solstices are in December and June, the shortest day and the longest day of the year.
