Can you help me identify this razor?

Can you help me identify this razor? This is a razor that I inherited from my godfather and is the razor that I am currently using. The bottom of the case says "POCKET EDITION" and has an embossed signature of "Kerry C. Gillette" (or something close to that), and "Gillette Safety Razor". The handle has a floral pattern on it. There is what appears to be a serial number stamped on the part with the comb. The small metal case inside the main case holds spare blades.

Thanks!

It's a Gillette Old Type pocket edition. The serial number would help us date it for you. These were made for Gillette by the ABC, the American Button Company. Very collectible. Very desirable to those of us who do collect. The signature, BTW, is that of King Camp Gillette. Very nice score, sir.

That'd be "KING C. Gillette" in the sig.

It's an old type. Looks like one made by the American Button Co., (ABC) for Gillette given the highly decorated handle.

Nice find.

Thanks to all of you. The serial number is B962581 - the 5 could be a 3 or 8, but probably "5". Also the first character is not formed well enough to be sure that it is a "B", but I think that's what it is (could be "3").

Again, thank you for the help.

1911. Very nice, indeed. Great piece of history and outstanding shaver!
