There's plenty of Dylan fans around here. What is your favorite Dylan album and why? My choice is an obvious one. Blood on the Tracks. I first heard this album around 1997. I never get tired of it. A true masterpiece.

Visions Of Johanna is one of the greatest songs ever written, imho.
I agree..... there are so many great ones. I have most of them. I think I listen to Time Out of Mind more than any of them... I doubt that makes it his best but I certainly love it.

This might sound strange...or not, but I prefer Dylan's mid-late '70s-early '80s work over his '60s output.
Nashville Skyline was the first album of his that I owned.

Tough question given the number of studio albums and live ones. I’d say highway 61 comes to mind as a great studio one. The bootleg series, basement tapes are great. Dylan and the dead. Had the good fortune to see him live a number of times.
Perhaps like Johnny Cash where they team up for Girl from the North Country.
I still like Rough and Rowdy ways.

I'll throw Shot of Love out there as an underrated Dylan album. If Caribbean Wind and Angelina would have included on the album I think it would have been his best work of the '80s.
I'm listening to Modern Times as I type this... another great album.

Infidels, though a solid album was another missed opportunity, imo. Imagine if Blind Wille McTell and Foot of Pride had been on it replacing lesser songs such as Union Sundown and Don't Fall Apart on Me Tonight.
It's hard to nail down a best, several of the ones already mentioned would fit that description. But frankly the one I actually listen to the most is Bringing It All Back Home, followed by Highway 61 Revisited.
