Argentinian Swedes?

Since mid-80s both EU and US market DE blades were French-made. In early 90s the Annecy plant stopped making DE blades. That's why they started making the US and the EU blades in Argentina for a few years.

Just opened my Argie Swedes and the date code is L4, so 1991 just like mjclarkes. Mine say distributed by Gillette Berlin so they are for the European market, they have English and German language on the packaging. I'm going to have a shave with one Sunday, looking forward to it!

Gillette Platinum has always been a blade for the European market. In North America there was the Platinum Plus. The fact they were made in Argentina doesn't mean they were sold there. In 1991-1992 there were Argentinian-made Gillette Super Stainless for the US/Canadian market. Also around that time there were Super Silvers [for the German market] made in Argentina.
