May 14, 2024 Tuesday shave

Razor: Lord L6 w/shortened Razorock Titanium Halo handle
Blade: Suneko Amorphous Diamond Super Stainless
Soap: Cella red
Brush: AP Shave Co. 24mm G5A
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Post shave: Barbero alum block, Thayer's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Old Spice Original

This was the second use of the Lord L6 razor. The one thing that stood out was the blade forward character of the razor. Using a light touch, it was surprisingly efficient. It was a terrific shave with no weepers, nicks, etc. and no irritation. To me, it's quite amazing that a $6 razor (delivered) can produce such a good shave. The other items used in the shave worked perfectly.

10/10

Enjoy your day!

YES SHAVE

Two Days Whiskers

MUSIC:

Close To The Edge by Yes. 1972.
For many the band's masterpiece. I think for me also.

PRE-SHAVE:

- Hot Towel

- Proraso Crema Pre Barba Rinfrescante (IT)

BOWL: Costa Nova Fine Stoneware (PT)

SOAP: Truefitt & Hill Mayfair (UK)

BRUSH: Kent BK12S Silvertex, 30 mm (GB) -

My favorite synth brush. A Lather Machine and top on face.

SR: Gillette New Long Comb (US) -

This is more agressive than I thought. Some blade feel accompanied by some biting if you facilitate. I find it very efficient. Really a Grand Razor. If it's better than the Short Comb is something I didn't establish yet.

BLADE: KCG (2)

POST-SHAVE:

- 444 Alum-Block (PT) : strond feedback over the first couple of minutes. A testimony of closeness.

- Stirling Bay Rum After-Shave Splash (US):

It sooths and anesthetizes the skin. It looks like having Sichuan Pepper!
Boy, it really stings! The scent is magnificent.

- Lierac Homme Baume Après Rasage (FR)

SHAVE: 9.5 /10.

I didn't reach a ten because I was careless and got two weepers, perfectly avoidable.
Also a 3rd full pass is not needed with this fantastic razor.

1st Pass: All WTG.

2nd Pass: XTG from East to West on Face. ATG on neck.

3rd Pass: All ATG except on Mustache and Chin Areas where I went XTG from West to East.

Some XTG touch-ups on Neck.

Razor: Blackland Sabre Level 2
Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (8)
Brush: Summer Break w/ Knight Knot
Soap: Summer Break Prom King
Splash: Summer Break Prom King

I have used this knot a few times now and I am amazed at how much lather it generates for how soft it is. There is no backbone what so ever, it’s a pain to get it to splay, but when it does it lather just fills the bowl.

First time using Prom King, it smells amazing, lather is slick and easy to work with. It’s made me want to buy a new bottle of Le Male, I ran out a few months ago. The after shave is the perfect finish

10/10 across the board

I don’t have much to say about the Sabre. It’s my favorite razor and it’s been getting a lot of use as of late. There just something about the single edge format that just works for me.

Super nice combination of cream, brush, and aftershave!
This razor satisfied my craving for a straight. I find it incredible how the shave angle for this AC razor is much more compared to a straight razor...
