Wilkinson Sword Cases

Hello guys, so the other day I was out of blades and I bought a pack of Wilkinson sword for the first time. Most of the times I use Nacets or Perma Sharp but I really liked the wilkinson, sharp enough and so smooth!
My question is this, I find them in 2 different black cases, is there any difference between them? Are they both from Germany?

Yes, the ones in the black plastic tucks are always from Germany, and are the same.

Also, you will notice that the name only says Wilkinson Sword, not Gillette Wilkinson Sword. Blades labeled Gillette Wilkinson Sword are either made in India or China.

Congrats on finding out about these. The German Swords are among my very favorite blades.

That's right they don't have the Gillette on the label. Thank you for the reply!
I believe they will become my favorites too!

They are called dispensers.

Nowadays the bulkier dispensers are in the blister packaging, and the smaller dispensers are in the 100 pillar box. This hasn't always been the case though. 15 - 20 years ago there were also blisters with the smaller dispenser, and back then all were white, not black.

I would like also to point out that the blister packaging is called Classic, and the pillar box is called simply Double Edge. Back when they made the smaller dispensers in a blister (~2010) they were called Double Edge like the pillar.

Nevertheless there is no blade difference in your photo #1 and #2.

I hope it is okay to add my own question onto this thread.
Some background: I have gone back to shaving with a DE razor for about 6 months now and it is going very well. I have been using NOS Wilkinson Sword blades up to now. These blades say "WILKINSON SWORD", "STAINLESS", and "MADE IN ENGLAND".
I saw some new "WILKINSON SWORD" blades on eBay when I was looking for something else and I decided to buy them. I didn't realize under afterwards that they were coming from India. When they arrived I saw that the blades said "WILKINSON SWORD" and "A GILLETTE PRODUCT". I notice that these new blades seem to go dull/blunt much faster than the NOS Wilkinson Sword blades.

I would like to hear your comments.

I like the Indian Wilkinson Sword blades. My work sells them in a 10 pack for $14.00. I can get seven shaves out of them. I don’t have any issue with them but as always blades are very subjective and everyone can have a completely different experience. Welcome to the Forum.

The first one are Germans. Today I had a shave with them and it was fantastic ones. Too bad that they are too expensive for me locally. 100 pieces for 55 usd here.
