What highest quality shoes sell for

Ouch! I am guessing I am not the target audience for these. I have a pair of Edmund Allen shoes that were a gift from a member here and they are incredibly well made. Perhaps these are that much better for those who have the disposable income or work in a field where impeccable footwear has a greater benefit.

Those remind me of a movie scene that's always stuck with me because of the clever writing....
I forget the movie but some business man is climbing a ladder (I think he's running from someone with a woman with him) and he looses his shoe. He watches it fall and says "there goes $1,000" and the lady with him is like "your shoes cost $1000??" and he goes "that one did". (they actually cost 2g)

I bought a pair of Alden Indy boots several years ago. After a foot injury I couldn’t wear them anymore so I gifted them to my son. They now are nearing the 700.00 mark and although they are great boots that’s out of my price range now. I’ll go to around 200.00 but that’s about it.
They will be cheaper at the Shoe Bank, but you have to keep checking as the stock rotates . Best price is the month long Black Friday sales at holiday time , an extra 25% off last year .I took advantage of the sale and got a beautiful pair of tan Fifth Avenue shoes for $175.... prices have gone up $25 on the top line . They also have a high end variety now but I don't think many will buy them . For $800-900 you can get a vintage shoe from Classic Shoes For Men | Vintage and Collectable Shoes - https://classicshoesformen.com/

I do not think there is a better American made shoe than Alden. Most of the calf models run in the mid $600s and most of the cordovan models run in the low $900s. Shoemart offers factory seconds that knock $200 off the price, and I honestly can find no flaws in them. Yes, it is a ton to pay for a pair of shoes, but properly cared for, they can go thirty years or more. You can drop $1000s on bespoke.

If you want a pair of English-made bespoke John Lobb, you would be talking £5000 British pounds and 6500 American Dollars, they take between 6 and 9 months to make.
