Hello, gents!
Does anybody know what’s the origin of such blade? When and where were they produced? Thanks

Interesting, thank youBritish/French made Nacets would have date codes and country of manufacture on the blade.
I had thought the Nacet Platinums were from the same era/factory, but then saw these mentioning Egypt. If there are no codes or origin, I would be leaning there.

Gillette Nacet made in Egypt - new Gillette factory
It would seem that there is a new Gillette DE blade factory in Egypt. Came across pics of these Gillette Nacet Stainless: Ahmad Hassan Speed is a P&G company. The address listed on the package for Ahmad Hassan Speed is the address of Procter & Gamble Egypt Ltd.'s Cairo manufacturing plant...www.badgerandblade.com
In any case, late 70s through mid 80s.
IMO, the British made Nacet Stainless blades were far better than the undated Platinums.
What makes you think these cannot be from the late 80s too? Or even later.British/French made Nacets would have date codes and country of manufacture on the blade.

Thank you, much appreciated as always. You’re an encyclopaedia for most of us, I’m saying it in a good way. What makes you think these cannot be from the late 80s too? Or even later.
@Ahiram
We cannot tell you where these blades were made. A possible plant could be Gillette England, or Annecy (France). Gillette Spain is a possibility too, it made DE blades until 1994 when they closed it.
Very often the style of the Gillette logo can be a sign of the period when they were manufactured. In your particular case it is the logo that Gillette introduced in late 1974. In December 1989 they introduced a new logo. But that old logo is often used for a few more years on some products. So unless there is a Gillette plant mentioned, you never know. These could even be from the 90s, because Gillette manufactured Nacets in their Polish Lodz factory (acquired by them in 1993).
I have vintage Nacets manufactured for Portugal here Razor Blade Acquisition Thread - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/razor-blade-acquisition-thread.594857/post-12077474 the 1985 are with the old Nacet logo. The 1999 are with the new Nacet logo. Two facts make me think yours are rather late 80s or early 90s. First, the newer Nacet logo. Second, the fact that your box is Gillette Nacet. They started adding the "Gillette" to the other brands pretty late.
Check for a date code on the blade. A letter and a number. Could be on different sides. But if they are made in Spain or Poland there will be no codes.
You didn't tell us the most important thing. Did you like how they shave? I am pretty sure they are not super sharp. I have some Russian made Nacet Platinums. Milder than Nacet Stainless.Thank you, much appreciated as always. You’re an encyclopaedia for most of us, I’m saying it in a good way.![]()
That is what I wanted to advise. Do not use in Techs, Super-Speeds or any other mild razors. These will shine in medium or aggressive razors.Right you are, they are not sharp enough. It results in very minimal tugging, but for me it’s on the acceptable level.
Results are very good DFS and sometimes (seldom actually) BBS but it doesn’t last long. I’ve used them only in my Gillette tech ball-end, British one with alum bottom/handle and brass top.
I’d say the next. It’s a good blade, but I wouldn’t buy any more
St Petersburg’s production is far sharper.
Btw, there’re no codes so probably it’s Spain or Poland as you said.
Hm, I’ll try that, thanksThat is what I wanted to advise. Do not use in Techs, Super-Speeds or any other mild razors. These will shine in medium or aggressive razors.
