Two bay rum soaps

Hi there,

A quick note (ok I'm never quick in my writing) about two soaps I bought last week from Amazon. I saw that a company called High Thyme Farmacy had a bay rum shave soap. They have what I think is a nice barbershop scent, so I figured I'd try the Bay Rum soap. ... I was not too impressed with the scent. It's too mild just in the tin, and lathering it just with my hands was decent, but nothing great. I haven't shaved with it. I'll probably save it for traveling as it's small enough for that.

The other soap I tried that was bay rum was Lather and Wood's bay rum, and I actually shaved using it the other day. I found it to have a pleasant scent, sweet-smelling and perhaps a bit like bathroom soap in a public restroom, but maybe that's just my nose. I also have L&R's barbershop scent, and do like that one quite a lot, along with their aftershave. But I also like that the L&R soap is softer, so I can squish a bit of it into my George Town Pottery big scuttle with my big Italian shaving brush from Mondial 1908. Yeah a big brush with high mountain badger and a great wood handle, that thing is a beast and was worth the price tag.

So I just thought I'd share. I did buy the Captains Choice aftershave and it's nice, as is Taconic shave. But I know I'm in the wrong forum for that. Sorry I can't send photos, I'm blind, the photos would suck.
