What's new

tommy's B&B journal...

This journal i am going to use to start over my diary attempt. I am going to keep it mostly to B&B related topics especially shaving. This is the last post i made in my diaring thread. I might add somethings like today's bad day but i will do my best to keep this B&B related and not use it as a therapy session. Sorry about that B&Bers. If the other thread can be deleted so be it. And i'm not against questions or anything else most of the time, so have at it if you want within B&B rules...

This morning and day is terrible with this storm, my problems are extreme today...

I wanted to shave today and i did. I saw a shave cream sample in my dopp(?) bag. And away we went...

I had to "fill" my Yaqi with water from a sink. The Captain's Choice was not available for me to use today. It was available but i wasn't capable to use it...
I lost the already used sample cream pack, somehow putting a sample shave cream pack on my lap just made it disappear... hahaha... i don't know the lather's thickness but it was slick for me. The Yaqi made a lather for 2 passes. It wasn't unpleasant but something i don't want to do again, unless i have to. Face lathering is uncomfortable for me.
The 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with the Rapira Blade i only did a ATG & XTG passes but my face is tiny beard hair free now. And as smooth as a full 3 pass shave.
No Omega Alum but Stirling Balm showed up and finished off the shave smoothly...

When i went into their bathroom i saw nor felt any irritation or any blood, nice...

February GRUME #2 shave and a 10/10 for the gear used today.

Yesterday i let my shaving self down. I went in to take a shower. I looked into the mirror and saw i missed facial fur just above my collar bone(?). I thought that applying Stirling Aftershave Balm all over my face i would have felt any fur but i didn't.

So today i had to get my shave gear and finish off yesterday's shave. After my shower. 3 hours in the slightly warmish 30f weather allowed me to remove ice around their driveway and house. So a shower needed to happen.

Pre-shave: was a Warm Shower and the last one for the M.E. Soap the little piece made it's way into the soap wash thing i have. 3 more soap pieces and that thing will be ready to lather me up.
Razor&Blade: 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with a Rapira Blade. 2 pass shave WTG & ATG, i shaved my face and neck a little stubble was there to slice off.
Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Sandpiper sample. A great lather today maybe the ice is thawing out the well water they have. But in seconds this lather was thick, slick and i still can't pick out the scent. It is a good scent but my nose's bad sniffing and me not knowing scents doesn't help.
Lather Gear: Captain's Choice Copper Bowl Amethyst(?) was whipped in by a Yaqi 24mm Mountain Lake Brush. Both helped create the great lather.
After-shave: Omega Alum then Stirling Soap Aftershave Balm Deep Blue Sea. Sealed my face up and moistened my face and neck. So moist...

A 10/10 for my third february Grume shave. My performance yesterday was 7/10...

So today i was distracted by every thing. At the doctor's for a drug injection this afternoon and went across the main waiting room to talk with a physical therapist almost right after being told i will be next. If the woman at the desk didn't see me walk out and called the PT to get me back i wouldn't have gotten the drugs.

On the way back to their house. I had the idea to get back, shave my face then wahl my head hair then shower. But i got in the Pony and got into conversations with 2 other passengers and forgot i needed 2 shaves and a shower.

I set an alarm a few minutes after my 1st drug taking alarm to make sure i don't forget again.... hahaha...

Today i haven't been destracted by anything and i did 1 workout session, head shave, shower and face/neck shave and soon another workout session.

The head shave was good and better after i sharpened/honed their wahl. I needed less passes and no uncut hairs were left. The razor shaved good before the honing but took several passes and uncut hair were left on my head every time i shaved. To me, my honing worked i now have to see why ithe razor rattles so loud, my reassembling skill wasn't good.

Next came my pre-shave shower, actually a, after head shave shower happened.
And my Yaqi whipped my Stirling inside my Captain's Choice into a slick lather in seconds not minutes.
My 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with the finale Rapira Blade and they slid through my face and neck hair easily, WTG, ATG and AXTG.
Omega Alum and Stirling Aftershave Balm finished off today's shave ending with my gear giving a 10/10 for the 4th February GRUME shave

I'm going to swerve a little in this journaling but will try not to swerve too much...

I saw the new Auction and donation event thread and i am very interested in the Auction side. I hope the taxes i set up to be strangled out of my monthly leech payments mostly gets back to me and before the Auction ends. I will use a small bit of the small bit amount of money i get back to hopefully acquire new to me stuff offered in the Auction.

There is a conversation in another members journal about internet speeds that i keep diving into but i don't think i should keep diving in and my info needs to be put in or wanted or understandable to the members in that journal.

I finally talked to a physical therapy person who not only knew what i wanted and she set me up with an appointment and explained to me what "we" will do at the appointment to get me evaluated and get me "physical therapy" info for my workout.

And i was gifted (i will say) gift cards that were free to a couple of my people. One was used to contribute to B&B. I am thinking about and probably over thinking about a thank you thing for B&B members. And i started to look for a "my" birth year razor and a shavette not only at a flea market but online as well.

Good days and have great shaves everybody...

I had a shave yesterday i barely remember it though, odd...
It was a 2 pass shave ATG and AXTG. Not much fur sticking out...

My shave gear was the same stuff. 1959 Gillette Fatboy with the last Rapira from the tuck box. The Yaqi created a good lather with the Stiring and some help from Captain's Choice. And the Omega Alum and Stirling Balm finished off the shave.
A 10/10 for my 5th shave of the February GRUME.

The Stirling Balm is near it's last shave finishes. I have a Stirling order planned but i found some Nivea post shave balm in the other small box of my stuff so no dry after shave face for me while i wait to make the order and it gets here, nice.

I have about 10 shave soap/cream samples left but i'm debating myself on what my next choice will be. I have Captain's Choice which is almost half my choices. The Vitos @1e4 PIFed me worked good for me and i have almost a legacy amount of shaves left on the half block. Maybe a small chunk of the Vitos then a Captain's Choice....

I almost did it and went totally off my B&B journal's path. Fortunately i got a whack to my head and didn't do it....

Anyway, today is a full shave day, shower and all. Just waiting to get my workout done and 1 other thing done. Now i will go back to B&B finish my quick scan throughs then get my short work/day stuff done.

Good days and shaves everybody...

The weather up here seems to have moved on or changed a little, i was able to shower and shave this afternoon.

I have needed a shower and shave since saturday. It felt so good to get crud off of my face and the yucky stuff off my body.

Stirling Soap Co. was throughout my ss today. Deep Blue Sea soap in the pre-shave shower. Seemed to bubble up more or give a very good thin lather (your choice).

My gear shown above came to the bathroom as they like to travel, they prefer the Captain's Choice Bowl, they say pockets in my pajama bottoms gets too stuffy and hot...

Razor & Blade: 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with the final Rapira Blade.
Lather Gear: The Yaqi Brush whipped that Stirling Sandpiper Shave Soap in the Captain's Choice Bowl a bit drier today but still a good lather and it seemed a little more slidey today. Next shave i will try this again.
Aftershave Gear: Omega Alum and Stirling Soap Deep Blue Sea Balm finished off today's shave.

Today's shave as usual was WTG, ATG AXTG and was a good shave but i needed to widen my Gillette to a 7 width 5 wasn't slicing my face fur at all as it usually does (i usually use 3 on every other day shaves and 5 if i'm a day over) today was the 4th day since my last shave. I had to make more of the same passes than i typically do, almost double. Because of my technique (i believe) gave me 5 weepers, 3 on my throat by my neck, 2 on either side of my chin. Only 1 weeper remained bleeding at the end of my shave that Omega kindly stopped.

This 7th shave of the February GRUME was a 5/10 for me and a 10 out of my gear.

A sort of a side note...

I had an annoying thing happen at the PT appt. i had yesterday and the main reason i made this appt for never happened.

I also had to give up on a shaving purchase but not because of the February GRUME i signed up for. But it does mean the failed real life shaving gear searching can be done online.

Ok... sorry me and B&B for that... i will now go stumble around outside and see if i can remove some of the ice by their mailbox...

After a 3 hour ice removal tour i went for a hot shower and a shave.

Deep Blue Sea was my pre-shave shower soap.
1959 Gillette Fatboy with the final Rapira Blade. A good shave but i had to flip the Fatboy to use the other edge of the blade. I am thinking maybe 3 shaves left with Rapira. They are a good blade for me. I think i got 6 shaves out each one.
Sandpiper for shave soap was good but the lather i created with the Yaqi Brush a Captain's Choice Copper Bowl was twice the amount i need, oops...
Omega Alum and Deep Blue Sea finished my shave off.

The Gear gave me a 10/10 for the 8th shave of the February GRUME...
