Tip…for those looking for glass bottles in maple syrup production areas

It is maple syrup season and a lot of hardware store chains have a selection of small to large empty glass bottles for sale destined to local makers.

When I was in my Pinaud variety trials, I was on the lookout for glass bottles to decant into the extra aftershave that didn’t fit into the aftershave bottles I had on hand, a lot of these bottles could have proven useful.

Maple syrup also comes in large tins, for those with a two-lifetime supply of aftershave ...

We had been buying maple syrup that comes in those half gallon or gallon plastic containers, Vermont or Canada....... However, I was transferring the syrup to glass containers... and there was white mold that floated to the top...... The cost was right... but I wonder if we were getting last year's harvest.... Now, we just don't keep any on hand... Unfortunate.... as we like it when cooking or adding to coffee now and then.... The small glass bottles in a regular grocery store are so expensive...
