Timeless Slim advice

I switched to DE shaving this year after 22 years of cartridge razors. I started with a Rockwell 6C, then Gillette Fatboy and now my favourite is the Merkur 37C (slant). I was thinking to purchase a high end razor as a gift for myself for Xmas (I don't want my wife to know how much it costs :)) ) and after some research I found Timeless which make some beautiful razors and the consensus is that quality is also very good.
I like the Slim one in stainless steel as the reason I like the Merkur more than the Rockwell is the fact that the Rockwell's head is so thick and I have issues getting under my nose and generally I think slimmer heads are more maneuverable.
However I understand that the slim is supposed to be very aggressive despite the small blade exposure of only .5mm and I am afraid I won't like it. I do find the Rockwell and Merkur a little too mild and I am hoping a more aggressive razor will remove the need to buff some of my areas but someone who owns one told me the slim is about as aggressive as the R41 which I know it is known as the most aggressive there is.
I don't have a very thick or full beard so wondering if the Timeless Slim will prove to be too much for me.
Also, does anyone know in case I don't like the plate, can I purchase a "regular" plate from Timeless like the .68 which I understand to be milder due to the blade angle being more neutral and just put it in the Slim?

Thank you!

Yes, you can switch the baseplate. .68/.95/Slim all work with the same cap, you could even use the Bronze .38/.76 if you want.

I suggest that if you should not like the Slim, the .95 OC would be a much more accessible but still very effective alternative that isn't too mild.

I agree with Iridian about the Timeless .95 OC. This was my first high end razor with many more to follow. I don’t find it to be aggressive, but certainly efficient and one of if not the smoothest razor I own. It took a couple of shaves to learn how to shave under my nose and is no problem at all.

One of the things I look for when razor shopping is how long the razor has been on the market. If it’s been years and not months, that tells me it must be popular and not a flash in the pan. The Timeless meets that test.
