What's new

Thread and post closing, a how to do it question...

As a reference... i can only access the internet and B&B through an older cellphone and the googles on it.

When i am tapping a thread under the the word box, like now. There are 4 buttons. Attach files, Post thread, more options... and a smaller button with a circle and slash in the middle. That cicle/slash button can close out a thread i am creating if i want to and is a good button.

When i reply to a thread, any thread the circle/slash button isn't there. Is there an account setting to add the button under the reply box?

I don't know what you mean by a circle/slash button.
Here is a pic of all options available when either making a new thread, or when replying to an existing thread:

Ok screenshots... the first one with the red arrow is me creating a thread and the arrow is pointing at the circle slash button. The 2nd screenshot is me replying to this thread. And only 2 buttons.

I don't want to close out a thread just my replies. I sometimes go on a long response or my spelling is a mess because my hands don't want to cooperate too much. And needing to tap the delete button to remove my post or delete half of what i tapped is frustrating to me.

I know it's frustrations i create myself and this is probably me just ranting.... sorry

I think the reply box is always there so I think what you're looking for is a "delete all" button?

On my phone if I just hold down my finger on some text the "select all" option comes up and then I delete it. Still more steps than a delete all button, but maybe not with a confirmation from the button?

On the other hand I do like how the forums save reply drafts I'm working on if I step away, and would get frustrated if there was a delete all button I accidentally pressed.

Yes the select all is another option. I kind of forget about that option. Ok i just need to remember simple things and think more about my time on B&B. My thinking for this thread in general was, i want the easiest way to delete my responses. Can that happen? And it can i just need to stop doing other things like eating when i am on B&B.

Thank yous and this thread for me is done...

You've got a very short window to edit or delete what you write. Mere minutes.
My advice to folks is re-read and verify before you hit "post reply".
