Spray Paint a Safety Razor

Good Evening,

(please be kind to me). Has anyone here ever spray painted a Ball End Tech? I've got like at least 15 of them. I had the idea of spray painting the top cap and the handle a high gloss black. So the ball, threaded part of the handle, and the safety guard would be left in nickel or whatever shiny metal it is. I tried searching the forums to no such luck. I figure tape off the shiny parts desired and degrease and rough up the areas to paint. Spray a coat of primer and then high gloss black. If the bottom of the top cap and safety guard are untouched, then the shave shouldn't be affected. Thoughts or ideas?

You could, but if you plan on shaving with the razor, the paint will wear and scratch off. You’d have better luck with powder coat. You could ask if your local tire and rim shop could do it for you since many have a powder coater.

You can do it but expect it to chip off eventually. It's an easy strip if you don't like it.
I shot a nasty $2 fat handle tech with some ceramic header paint, oven cured.
Looks OK, I'm not proud of it. Go light, paint is much thicker than plating.

Can you see which one it is? Easy.

Ceracote yes, spraypaint, no. Maybe powder coat but you have to know whoever will put it on for you so you can tell them to go LIGHT.
Plastidip in a spray will work but won't look professional. How I know that? Don't ask.
