Simpsons M6 Manchurian Opinion Changed

I recently acquired an M6 in Manchurian. Upon initial receipt I was extremely disappointed. I have since used it 5-6 times and I am delighted to say I truly enjoy this brush now. I still feel the knot appears to be undersized or the hair weight was off during production. Traditionally bowl lather but for some reason, the second use I face lathered with it. The handle is very comfortable and it whips up a great lather. The knot just works for face lathering. Can't say I will only face lather from this point but with that brush I will.

My 59 Manchurian is the same way, much better on the face than in the bowl, and underweight. I am going to keep it, but I am not planning to get another brush in their Manchurian grade.

Glad you’re enjoying it. Serves as a good reminder that there’s a lot of knee-jerk reaction reviews here, it’s always interesting to me when I see posts from people saying they’ve used something for the first time and it’s the best thing ever and they’ll never want to use another brush/razor/etc… the reality is we can’t use something once and really know how it performs. But it’s sure nice when it turns out to be a good one!

Here is my M6, it is number 176 out of a numbered run of 200. I read mixed reviews of this brush and the M6 does not get a lot of love here on B&B. I also have an M7 which is much more densely packed but denser is not always better. My M6 has a slight glue bump which helps to add a little backbone and I find it an excellent brush.

Just saw this. It was purchased direct from Simpsons. Still no response to my email. Good thing I like it a little more now. Over all solid brush just disappointed and not at all like my other Manchurian Simpsons.
That's a shame. Maybe the quality dropped over the years or you just got a dud. Have a chubby three and it is fantastic. I prefer a longer handle so it collects dust, but the knot can go toe to toe with basically any high end brush I've tried.
