Short review on Gillette 7 o’clock SharpEdge (yellow)

I just tried these blades for the first time today. Extremely comfortable shave! Plenty sharp, plenty smooth. I will have to see how this blade wears as the shaves go on, but I really like these blades so far. I used a Fatboy on the lower settings. Because I was rushing my shave and had quite a bit of growth, I need to follow up on closeness and efficiency with another shave tomorrow. I’m usually a one pass guy, maybe two like today if I have more stubble; but, I’d like to see how efficient and close it is for a single pass tomorrow. I think it will do well, but I need to confirm. What’s your experience with these blades?

I like the current version of these blades quite a bit, but I have to admit the cheapskate in me doesn’t enjoy the price.

I only have a 5-tuck - date 6/12/20, no country of origin, English and (I think) Arabic writing. I tried one when I was starting wet shaving in a 70's English tech, as did a friend at the same time, and neither of us found it particularly sharp. @helicopter has tested 3 and believes pre-2017 product may be better.

Well, after seeing how much love these blades get I had to try another - this time in a pre-war Tech - and I have to say this time it seemed to live up to its name! Amazing how one's view can change with a bit of experience. Too early to say if I will love them though.

Is it swell time?
Currently ranks third in my overall blade scores. First two shaves are usually rougher for me, but when it smoothens out it is a great blade.

I had 200 and couldn’t make it through the first tuck. Very sharp and effective but they just didn’t get along with my face after a few attempts… and have since found a happy home.

You win some, you lose some.

I like them but to me they seem just a tiny bit rougher than my top tier blades (Feather, Nacet, GSB and Perma-Sharp).

Still excellent blades. And of course it’s all very subjective.
