| Comments | This was the third shave with the Razor Rock Stealth slant and PolSilver Super Iridium blade. The shave was close and smooth. I am starting the week with a new soap since on Sunday, I finished the chunk of Cella I was using. Based on the comments some other members made (@Marco in particular) I went with the TSF Crema Purissima Per Barba. This excellent soap is easy to load and makes a superb lather. The Paladin El Dorado had an easy time making the lather. It was a perfect shave. Have a great day, folks. |

MicroMatic Monday, January 6th 2025
Razor : Gem Micromatic clog Pruf (Peerless 17 nib S.B variant). Mfg 1945, mid range. I seem to enjoy this Micromatic more than the other 2 models(MMOC & MMFW) in the well built Micromatic razors.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (5) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, nice fragranced soap with some of the best lather qualities a person needs.
Brush : Yaqi "Rainbow" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic. Large handle with excellent knot for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard area residual soap cleanse + Razorock Irish Countryside + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :
or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=
Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Clog Pruf razor with a coated Gem blade.

Hello friends
The week started hot with a typical summer day. I decided to escape to the aquatic aromas of SV 70th Anniversary. To match it and BADGERARY 2025 I chose Yaqi Acqua Highmountain (Silvertip Badger/24mm) which I have used very little, but intend to use more. Rocca R94 and Treet Dura Sharp (1) combined very well. It is not a very sharp blade, but it was quite smooth. In my imagination, I stayed in the sea for hours with Brut Oceans and the help of Davidoff Cool Water.
With us, the splendid baritone sax of Pepper Adams.

Brush: Oumo Compass 29mm ST-1
Bowl: Captain's Choice copper
Aftershave: Old Spice Original
I thought I would try the Gem Featherweight razor today. The blade smoothed out considerably, which improved the shave. But, the Gem format isn't one that I'm totally at ease with, yet. The shave was good and close, but not as smooth as with a DE razor.
The Oumo brush stood out today as a stellar performer. The ST-1 knot is among the best synthetics, IMO.
